While rumor is Don Luis doesn't like us, they are basically neighbors. He is on the road, we are off in the trees maybe 3km away.
The problem with San Nicolas, for me, is it is down in a valley. It is "warm" always and "hot" all too much of the time. That picture was clearly taken in the rainy season. While it stays green up here, a lot will turn brown down there.
Well i not aware of that, i know Luis and is very nice person the same his wife , i don't going to speculate in that matter, because is obvius that you will become competition in the same place .
About San Nicolas hot is truth, yes the picture was taken in winter, and Tisey is a priviliged micro climate place , the rest around , in summer will turn brown and hot, including Estelí.
To be more specific , this climate is only share it in Tisey,La tejera , Quiabu , Miraflores , the high mountains surranding Esteli.
Long time ago, maybe 35-45 years Estelí shared the climate ,the fog in early mornings was usual , Winter evrybody must use coats...but humans touch. fx.
This link will get you the weather here. We are officially in La Tejera. If you click on the link at the bottom of the page you can get the historical information. I am sitting about 5 meters from the actual weather station.
I have data going back many months but we were not on-line then. Maybe 5 degrees hotter in April.
Everyone sees us as competition. To me, that is thinking small. There are maybe a dozen rooms for rent in the area. People don't come here to stay because there just aren't that many options. Us being open (and appealing to a different market) is just going to help everyone.
Don't believe it? Ever notice that when one fast food restaurant opens up, all the competition opens up nearby? Scary but it works. Also, part of our web site is (will be is probably better at this point) dedicated to promoting the area. There are sections for San Nicolas and for things in the reserve.

is nearby, because is the same mountain , if FYl is close to the Garnacha, so is like 3 or 5 km. But FYL can be more precise.
