This complements the findings of astrophysicist Margaret Geller.

Althought she is wrong in her fantasy\fairytale\common "belief" in evolution, she did participate in mapping matter in the cosmos. Although according to evolution beliefs they expected chaos, what they found was highly ordered with a special symetric placement of the earth. THAT is an observable fact. The outcome for faith should be in the creator, not some "new" age mumbo jumbo altered garbage that refuses to stop worshipping the creation.

evolution

Could it be possible the the process living organisims use to adapt to changes that are constantly going on in the living world is and was planned by god. This assistance aids the survival of that particliar species is in fact or could be a tool god placed into all living creatures to give them the opportunity to live.

If god created an ever changing world as a process of rebirth so that stagnation did not develope is this not a grand plan for the perpetuation of life the creation of god.

How silly christian close mindedness can be reject one of the very tenants god gave life to adapt and progress, only because you don't understand it or some scientist observed it, wrote about it, and tried to explain the many beautiful differences of life on this planet.

It would seem to me that the study of science how things work could actually be interpreted as the study of God mechanisms, but that would in fact require an open mind.

The process of evolution...

isn't one of "living organisms" adapting to anything, rather the dead ones not having the alleles necessary to survive and thrive. Adaptation <> evolution.

So karenj, you must agree with Cliff...

In an episode of "Cheers," Cliff Clavin, the trivia-spouting, quirky, irksome mama's boy mailman is seated at the bar describing the buffalo theory to his buddy, Norm Peterson, the beer loving heavyweight bar stool sitting perpetual patron.

Cliff expounds his "Buffalo Theory" to Norm:

“Well, you see, Norm, it’s like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it’s the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.

And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.”

_______________

So karenj, beer may also help with the evolution process as well!!

i don't like it...

i don't like it, i love it.

Catholic Church view on evolution

from Wikipedia, Catholic Church and evolution

"Since the publication of Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species in 1859, the position of the Catholic Church on the theory of evolution has slowly been refined. For about 100 years, there was no authoritative pronouncement on the subject. In the 1950s, the Church's position was one of neutrality; by the late 20th century its position evolved to one of implicit acceptance.

Today[update], the Church's official position is a fairly non-specific example of theistic evolution.[1][2], stating that faith and scientific findings regarding human evolution are not in conflict, though humans are regarded as a special creation, and that the existence of God is required to explain both monogenism and the spiritual component of human origins. No infallible declarations by the Pope or an Ecumenical Council have been made."

By the way, in case you

By the way, in case you hadn't noticed. We heathens were here first, and we like it here.

pagans- and heathens, Chralie

though often called "red heathens" and " red savages", we Native Americans actually practiced more pagan style rights in our religious and spiritual lives

Black Eagle, we could have learned a lot from them

Instead we shoved them out onto the reservations and paid them to stay there. I always thought that they were more in tune with the planet than most and that a lot of the "Green" and spiritual stuff we try and practice now is really what they did back then. But that didn't sell much in those days.

I had the good fortune to spend time on the set of the movie Legends of the Fall, out at Morley on Highway 1, Alberta. A 360 degree pan of the Rockies and the prairies for miles around with no man made object in sight. God's country for sure.

For people like PreacherMan,

For people like PreacherMan, the term applies equally to anyone who doesn't believe exactly as he does. Using that as a guide, I would venture to say that 90% of the people here (on this forum), and about 95% of the people of the world are heathens in his eyes.

Is she related Uri Geller, the fork guy?

He used to "Bend" things too, problem is they eventually broke.

Wha?

How on earth would so-called "evolution beliefs" have anything to do with location of matter in the cosmos? Evolution is simply the process of genetic change from one generation to the next. In living organisms, on Earth. It does not even remotely begin to explain astrophysical processes, you have to turn to Einstein et al. for that.

So try again, preferably after finding a dictionary first.

Jesus loved the dinosaurs

I thought they were Satan's trick

That's what a Mormon friend told me once. True story! The dinosaurs were buried by Satan, with God's permission, as some sort of trick/test of faith.

Whoops, guess I failed that one. Better luck next time. ;)

Amiga, I keep telling you!

You are not well enough informed~ :-)

I know, I know

Guess I better get back to the books...I think I've got a dictionary 'round here somewheres... ;)

"j.c loved the dinosaurs"

No wonder they became extinct.

Dear RSJGringita

What is this dictionary thing you are speaking of? Can I buy one at the Einstein store or can i rent one?

I asked the Pastor but he didn't know.

Thanks for your help!

I suggest that if you can't

I suggest that if you can't stand criticism, you should be the one moving on.

This is NOT a religious site!

Please refrain from preaching here. Your beliefs are yours. Keep them to yourself.

this lil light

this lil light of mine, i'm gonna let it shine....

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -Thomas Jefferson-

might as well try to get me banned, you are not my God

If you can not deal with the issues, and attack the messenger that just shows you have a problem dealing with the issues at hand. If you errect straw man arguments, that just shows you have a problem with dealing with the issues at hand. These are simplistic, childish responses. If your heart bothers you so much as to act in this manner, I suggest you consider why that is.

tee hee

"erect" "hand"

Thank goodness I'm not your God!

Let me try once more to get this trough your thick fanatical head:

This site is about Nicaragua not about your religious beliefs. Our members span the complete religious and a-religious spectrum.

Out of common courtesy we do NOT discuss religious subjects on this site. Most of our members have the intelligence, common courtesy, tact and consideration to adhere to this unwritten policy. It is becoming increasingly obvious you are falling short on all counts.

The responses you received were polite and humorous. Are your that dense you can't see that? I guess so! But then again most religious fanatics are......

You keep posting ludicrous subjects and you are surprised by the responses? "Wie man in den Wald hinein ruft, so kommt es zurueck" . Since I don't expect you to speak German I will translate: "As one shouts into the woods, so it returns". Ever hear of a physical phenomena called "echo"?

As for banning you, why would we? Every court used to have a court jester. In case you don't know what that is, A court jester was a person who's job it was to keep the court entertained. Often by performing magic tricks and juggling. It's just too bad your entertainment skills are so poor. However, the nice folks here are putting up with you and hope you will improve.

PS. How is your search for the "perfect little woman" going? http://www.nicaliving.com/node/15330

TROLL

This guy is a troll. He is a poor soul who starts inflammatory threads because he enjoys getting a rise out of people. If people would avoid rising to the bait by replying, he would go away.

PS. How is your search for the "perfect little woman" going?

There's a single woman on the corner here in Granada that sells apples in front of the casino if that's any help! (Just sayin')
