Engineering for Change

I was pointed to an article on using discarded plastic bottles (which contains Nicaragua examples) on the Engineering for change web site. After a bit of reading I decided that point to the site in a general fashion makes a lot of sense. Here is what the tag line for the site says:

Engineering for Change provides a forum to connect, collaborate, solve challenges and share knowledge among a growing community of engineers, technologists, social scientists, NGOs, local governments and community advocates, who are dedicated to improving the quality of life all over the world.

Just from a bit of reading I found a lot of useful information. Besides good topics, I found comments that expanded upon the ideas. All in all, if you want to address local problems here and in the third world, it does look like this site is a good place to plug in.
